Benin Republic: It's Either We Lack Understanding Of Spoken English Or Mischief - Lauretta Onochie.

Many Nigerians have been reacting to the statement from the President of Benin Republic that his country will like to be the 37th state of Nigeria. Nigeria's Foreign Affairs Minister, Geoffrey Onyeama had made this statement yesterday. But the Personal Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Media, Mrs. Lauretta Onochie is not happy with the interpretation given to the statement by some Nigerians. To her, some people heard something different from what Minister said.

Mrs. Onochie took to her official and verified Twitter handle to say that Nigerians have the habit of misquoting people. She went further to say that it is either the lack of understanding of spoken English or mischief.

The Presidential Aide guessed that it was mischief that may have made some Nigerians say something different from Goeffery Onyeama said. Mrs. Onochie shared the exact statement of Geoffrey Onyeama and what according to her Nigerians heard.
Her arguement here is that Benin Republic just wished and never said it was ready. The issue of Benin Republic joining Nigeria has been trending on Twitter since today and below is what Nigerians have been saying about it.
