Update: Always be your self

         

The only time I was ever in a competition with anyone was when I needed to fight for my life. It was either I compete or die. But after then, I had never been in any competition with anyone. Maybe others are in one with me, it doesn't bother me.

I'd tell you why,
Except you have my exact skill-set,
Except you have my exact personality
Except you have my exact temperament
Except you have my exact knowledge
Except you have my exact physique and aesthetic qualities
Except you have my smile
Except you have my exact heart
Except you have my exact education
Except you have my exact exposure
Except you have my exact exposure
Except we have the same parents
Except we have the same struggles
Except we have the same vision and goals,
Which perhaps is likely not to be possible, then you're in a competition with ONLY yourself!
When I see people making waves, I cheer them on in fulfilment because I think the "exact" kind of their own dreams is working out for them. I don't put myself on the same lane with them when I know there's never an exact dream.
That is the reason why when others think I've failed, I see my chances of success because I define my own success because only me understand my struggles.
Most of you get into the competition bus and get your ego bruised when others are making waves in areas not your own dreams but just because you want to belong.
I learnt 4 years ago that because you have a passion for something doesn't mean you're good at that thing. There's also a serially sold scam by motivational speakers that passion would make you break through financially. That is a big scam. Passion doesn't bring nothing to your table. We live in a zig-zag society, zig-zag reasoning helps you.
You need more than just intellect. You need more than just your age. You need more than the number of years you've been in a particular environment. It doesn't mean shit. Drop the entitlement. You need more than people you know those who those people know.
You will need that time and chance should happen to you!
I saw my friend saying she's failed yesterday because she didn't get what her friends got. I laughed at her ignorance sorely because she doesn't know the gift of humanity she is. Because others are perceived to be thriving differently at what you've always done doesn't mean you've failed, it may mean they've been better aligned through nature and "time". It may mean they even need to succeed first so you can learn how they did it so you can succeed more than them on your own terms.
This year crashed for me. I put in so much energy into many things that I practically got nothing from, but im not sulking. I won't care about those working hard to see that I don't succeed to. They will work hard until they can't anymore and I will succeed. My enthusiasm at holding myself up even when no one comes through for me is why I am still living.
You need to find a way to motivate yourself. Nobody would do that perfectly more than yourself. Bleeping forget any competition. Were we born on the same dates? Are we going to die on the same date?
Reekado banks at 24 had achieved what 2face only got the opportunity to achieve at 30. They're in both terrains, but because 2Face isn't in a competition with anyone, he wouldn't find his long time in the music industry as a reason to be laid back. Haven't you heard? Black Face is still sulking after 2face moved on.
As I write, there are people who you've offended once or twice or maybe many times even without your deliberate interest that won't forgive you.
They are people who think that if you breakthrough, you'll dim their own lights, even as this is false.
They are people who would intentionally circumvent your chances for their own feeling of inadequacy and fragile esteem.
They are tons of insecure people out there who think until you fail before they succeed.
Worse off, they are people who also think if your success doesn't come through them, it won't work.
We live in a dog eat dog society that is depraved of any shred of conscience to the pull of humanity.
You should know this. When you do you best, pray the rest. Sleep some more. If it doesn't work, start again differently.
Don't be in a competition. You will fail for reasons beyond your own control.
If you think your 2020 didn't come out with nothing, see fam, I didn't come out with success according to the perception of the society, but I came out SUCCESSFULLY. I have life. I am the success. I learned a lot this year. I tested new terrains, trials, pains, emotional loads and social blackmails, I survived.
I am victory. You are victorious!
 from today, we are starting again. We will soar and fail together but I as we have live, we will keep it high and strong.
I have done my best and strength. God. Nature. Good people in bad people would do the rest!
